Homeopaths are health detectives. Your symptoms, personality traits, and preferences are clues to the case, guiding us to its resolution: wellness.
Your Consultation
Your initial consulation typically lasts from 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Kate will want to hear a detailed description of your chief complaint - when it began, when it flairs up, what makes it better or worse, how it feels both physically and emotionally, if other symptoms occur with it, etc.
She will also ask about your energy levels, sleep habits, weather preferences, food cravings and aversions, perspiration, and temperament. We will go through a head to toe sequence of body parts and systems so Kate can learn your susceptibilities.
To you, it may seem random information unrelated to your presenting problem, but Kate is trained to see patterns that point to the indicated remedy.
If you are taking medications which mask your symptoms, Kate will want to hear about your non-medicated self. Assuming your goal is to reduce the need for drugs, we can work with your physician to gradually lower your dosage and ideally, taper off altogether.
Kate will also review your intake forms, which consist of a family health history chart, a three-day food diary, and personal history. Like a good detective she will thoroughly analyze all this information and find the one remedy that is most suited for you.
Your fee includes the initial consultation, the first remedy, and six weeks of follow-up communication and care. Knowing how often to repeat the remedy can be tricky, so Kate likes to work closely with her patients to help them learn the art as well as the science of homeopathy.
Follow-up appointments are encouraged but not required. People can achieve ever higher levels of health with long-term homeopathic care.
All information shared between Kate and her patients is kept in the strictest confidence.
