Homeopathy treats the person, not the disease.

Homeopathy in Action

Toddler with asthma now energetic and active.

Beginning as a two year-old, R. had asthma attacks every 6-7 weeks, with a propensity for pneumonia, for which he was hospitalized twice. His parents worried that the drugs his pediatrician wanted him to take were too strong, and they longed for a way to decrease his need for them. When he was three and a half, they brought R. to Kate. Upon hearing about his episodes of wheezing, which always ended up with the boy vomiting, Kate knew which remedy to try. After using this remedy intermittently for several months, he "outgrew" his asthma attacks and is an active 7 year-old who no longer needs either a remedy or the strong drugs with their potent side effects.

Lifelong migraines relieved.

48 year-old G. had his first migraine at age 8, and had suffered with them ever since. Eating saltine crackers would help ease the pain of his debilitating migraines, although what he really wanted was to remove them altogether. The saltines were a clue to Kate and she was able to find the remedy for G. Shortly after starting on it, he went from having migraines 1-3 times per week, to 1-3 times per month. Three years later, long after discontinuing the remedy, G. reports that his imrovement has held, and that while he still has an occasional migraine, he can hardly remember what it was like to have them so often.

Relief of PMS prevents surgery and helps the whole family.

B. came to see Kate for her premenstrual symptoms, which were creating serious upheaval in her family. Upon hearing B.'s full story, Kate was also quite concerned about B.'s uterine enlargement, which her gynecologist said might require a hysterectomy. The remedy Kate selected helped balance B.'s moods premenstrually, and she never did need the surgery.

Seasonal allergies no longer in season.

K.'s case is typical of homeopathic treatment. She came to see Kate for seasonal allergies, which were exhausting her and "driving her crazy." She took the remedy Kate selected for several months, and the following year, when she was expecting them to return, they stayed away. Six years later, she is still allergy-free, without remedies or over-the-counter medicines.

Anxiety relieved, other symptoms also calm down.

When she came to see Kate, C.'s chief complaint was sinusitis, but during the initial consultation it became clear that what was most limiting C.'s freedom was her severe anxiety. Therefore the first remedy Kate selected was chosen to address this aspect of the case. Subsequent follow-ups pointed to several other remedies, and this case was one which "zig-zagged" to resolution.
